Biography

As an advocate of mental health Melo uses his vulnerability, individuality, and creativity to look at his past-lived experiences with depression, loss and heartbreak through Alt-Rap and Indie-RnB music. Feeling unseen and unheard by racially flawed suburbia and housing communities around him, Melo aims break down stereotypical social barriers by injecting fun into his music, all the while offering the motivation for others to find their own solace in his sound.
Melo Griffith uses hypnotic voicing and colourful lyricism to bend the lines of contemporary hip-hop creativity. Raised in the GTA and molded in Ottawa, Melo has learned to mixed smooth blues and funk influences with a raw adaptation on the inner city Toronto Rap Sound. When Melo has his band behind him (FloorNine), the experience is amplified. With live players not only do we get to see the skill of all the player but the chemistry and synergy between them. From playing in practice rooms of their university Music program to performing at one of Billboards Top 10 rated outdoor music festivals, Melo & FloorNine are unrivalled yet the fun they have on stage is contagious.
