Biography

Farid Benmbarek is director of Straight Shooter Publishing, a music publishing company that focuses, among other things, on the position of composers and authors, founded in collaboration with record labels Top Notch, Noah’s Ark and Universal Music. He is part of the MT/board of Top Notch, where he invested for years as Artists & Repertoire manager in the development of talent from the Dutch hip-hop scene. As a former radio presenter for, among others, Juize.FM/Radio538 and FunX and writer/moderator for State Magazine and ML75, Benmbarek is involved in developments in youth and pop culture. Benmbarek also guided live talk shows about cultural entrepreneurship in particular and wants to work for makers who develop outside the box. Farid Benmbarek is a member of the Supervisory Board of Eurosonic Noorderslag and a board member at Kunsten ’92.
