Biography

JoethePoet, is a BMI song writer & a recording artist born in The Bronx, NY. He is the son of immigrant parents from Livingston, Guatemala which is located in Central America. He started his journey in music in 2015 using it as a therapeutic tool.
“Growing up was rough for me. I lacked guidance as a youngster, didn’t have a role model to lean on, didn’t have a great relationship with my family and God at the very beginning of my journey. As I got older and deeper into my musical path I began building a relationship with God while repairing my relationship with my family. I placed my faith in the hands of God and continued to put my focus into positive things and things within my control. Music is not a hobby for me it’s legitimately MY LIFE! Without music who knows where I’ll be today, honestly speaking probably dead or in a very unhealthy situation. So I thank God for giving me the strength, the courage and the guidance to use music as a therapeutic platform to help shape my life for the best.”
JoethePoet has been 100% hands on with his career. Writing his own songs, producing some of his records, Investing into his own craft, designing his own clothing brand named Dsigned Poetically , launched his first sneaker line named The Red Carpets , scheduling his own tours performing at numerous of venues across the United States, few places overseas starting in November of 2015 and during high profile events such as A3C Music Festival, SXSW Music festival and the Grammys. JoethePoet has attended the BET Awards twice, got two of his records on two independent films in Los Angeles the most recent record titled “Ridin” which is self produced was apart of the film “Replica” that was premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York City on October 15th, 2022 . JoethePoet has been seen performing in different venues in Paris, Montreal, Toronto, London, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Diego, New Orleans, Miami, Boston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C, Texas and all over the tri-state ( NYC, NJ, CT ) area to name a few. During his tour runs he has opened up for Rakim, Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Styles P, Joyner Lucas, Xian Bell, Capella Gray, Joell Ortiz, Fred The Godson, Jaquae, No Malice, Crooked I, K Goddess, Jay Stone, AJ McQueen, Cory Gunz, Phresher, GZA, Abby Jasmine, various artists on the Ruff Ryders label, and various artists on The Rel Carter Culture Tour.
“As an recording artist I feel like I can’t be one dimensional. So I strive on being a complete package as an artist. So my goal is to become a better performer, a better song writer / recording artist, an efficient business man that’s going to make a difference connecting my fans while maintaining originality and rawness with my sound.”
