10th ANNIVERSARY NEW SKOOL RULES IRL OCT 7TH-9TH IN ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS
New Skool Rules celebrates our 10TH edition after two successful digital editions and 7 physical editions, starting in 2009. Even though Corona has forced us to pivot into 2 digital editions, we’ve always understood the importance of staying connected and maintaining a structural dialogue with the urban music community globally. We’ve been providing up and coming urban creatives with IG Live masterclasses and interviews, but also made sure they received professional feedback to their songs through our popular zoom demo-listening sessions with important Movers & Shakers from the Music Industry.
In the past 9 editions, we’ve celebrated musical excellence from across the globe with award winning acts like LMFAO, Rock City (Locked Away feat. Adam Levine), Nico & Vinz (Am I wrong), Fais (Hey) and Nicole Bus performing on our festival stages, before their rise to fame! We’ve been giving the opportunity to entertain more than 75.000 festival enthousiasts and conference attendees, from over 25 countries so far and we can’t wait to celebrate this 10th edition with everybody.
New Skool Rules still aims to create a platform for SHARING AND GAINING KNOWLEDGE, NETWORKING, DOING BUSINESS AND HAVING FUN!!! This 10th edition will feature a massive writingcamp with over 200 creatives involved leading up to the actual Festival and Conference. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the Corona Virus, we decided to celebrate our anniversary from the 7th – 9th of October 2022 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
New Skool Rules has always been very successful in bringing out the Music Industry’s Movers & Shakers as speakers for the different panels, workshops and masterclasses. The 10th edition, will headline some of your all time favorites, but also a lot of new and exciting speakers from the social media and music tech space.
Some of our past speakers were representatives of Warner Music, Allhiphop, MTV, Roc Nation, FunX, Topnotch, Radio 538, Universal Music Group, Def Jam, Sony Music, Atlantic Records, Motown, Republic, EPIC, Island, Interscope, RCA, Sony Music Publishing, Warner Chapell, BET, Universal Music Publishing Group, Spotify, Deezer and so many others.
New Skool Rules always makes sure that the (rising) stars in the different markets showcase their talent from legends like MC Shan and Fredro Starr (Onyx) to LMFAO and Bishop Lamont but also extremely known artists from Asia like Joe Flizzow, SonaOne & Mizz Nina graced the New Skool Rules stages. The festival part also features tomorrow’s superstars before they blow up like R. City (Locked Away feat. Adam Levine), Nico & Vinz (Am I wrong) and Fais (Hey feat. Afrojack).
New Skool Rules is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary. This means more showcases, exclusive events and even more Industry Heavy Weights than usual. New Skool Rules will feature an outside stage and will programme the festival in more venues than ever. The audience will get a taste of GREAT international music from all over the world. Don’t be surprised to run into artists from Japan or Canada, but also from Singapore to Curaçao.
Besides the outside stage you can find most of the New Skool Rules conference activities in venue Worm in the city center of Rotterdam.
